¿Regresar a oficina o quedarse en casa?… parece una simple pregunta que conlleva a respuestas complejas. ¿tu organización está realmente preparada para cualquiera de estos dos esquemas?
Repentinamente, el mundo se vio forzado a trabajar desde casa, excepto los roles operativos para el funcionamiento de servicios esenciales de cada país, privilegiando lo más importante, la salud de todos, sin embargo la mayoría de las organizaciones no estaba preparada, si bien lleva poco más de una década el crecimiento de esquemas de home office, las organizaciones no han sido capaces de capitalizar todos los beneficios que este esquema trae consigo, y algunas personas no están siendo más productivas.
Por un lado, la súbita decisión de confinamiento “quédate en casa” ha traído consigo situaciones que La ley federal del trabajo no contempla y tiene implicaciones particulares que no estamos listos para atender al estar bajo esquema de teletrabajo o home office, tales como:
- En casa las personas están llevando a cabo su trabajo sin los recursos adecuados, desde contar con un lugar que cumpla con las medidas de seguridad, salubridad y ergonomía que los centros de trabajo cumplen bajo la normatividad de la STPS como las normas 025, 035 y 036.
- En caso de presentar síntomas, enfermedad o accidente estando bajo este esquema no regulado, de quién es la responsabilidad, quién cubre los gastos, son preguntas que las personas y empresas se están empezando a hacer conforme están apareciendo algunas situaciones como: problemas de espalda por estar sentado las 8 horas en la silla del comedor o en el sillón de la casa, que no están diseñados para el trabajo; deterioro de la vista y necesidad de usar lentes por el incremento de tiempo de exposición a la pantalla.
- Tanto los equipos como sus líderes están afrontando dificultados para manejar la situación emocional de incertidumbre, ansiedad, irritabilidad por la convivencia y estrés por alcanzar los mismos resultados, ahora bajo un esquema nuevo, al que no todos se han adaptado y no perder su trabajo, en el mejor de los casos.
Por otro lado, aunque ha sido declarado por las autoridades federales, el semáforo en naranja y se ha autorizado a las plazas comerciales, restaurantes y negocios su reapertura, no se cuentan con las condiciones para que tal decisión no conlleve a contagios masivos, pues hemos visto como un gran porcentaje de la población no toma las medidas precautorias como el uso adecuado del cubrebocas o la frecuente higiene de manos ya sea con gel antibacterial o lavado correcto, las personas no están guardando la distancia recomendada, y los encuentros de más de 10 personas aún siendo familiares, siguen incrementando el número de contagios. Este hace que, volver a los centros de trabajo, ya sea una empresa, restaurante, negocio o centro comercial, siga representando un riesgo para la salud.
Recientemente la investigación de la comunidad científica ha sido aceptada por la OMS reconociendo que, las partículas de Covid-19 menores a 5 micras mezcladas con saliva, pueden permanecer en el aire y viajar a través de los sistemas de ventilación de vehículos de transporte público y de lugares cerrados, no solo en las superficies; por lo tanto, las organizaciones e instituciones requieren de contemplar más implicaciones de las que actualmente están viendo, para poder volver a operar y ser un lugar seguro, por ejemplo:
- Aún haciendo modificaciones a los sistemas de ventilación, filtros purificadores o de temperatura dentro del centro de trabajo no serán suficientes para eliminar el riesgo de contagio en lugares cerrados. Se requerirá de una inversión importante en purificación de aire, sistemas de control de flujo de aire combinados con la disposición de lugares disponibles para sentarse a trabajar o comer, incluso sistemas de radiación o esterilización de tecnología sofisticada con su inherente costo, para garantizar la eliminación del virus.
- Las personas que asisten regularmente o en un porcentaje a los centros de trabajo requerirán un mecanismo de trazabilidad de contacto, para que, en caso de adquirir el virus en determinado momento, pueda ser rastreada la cadena de posible contagio de compañeros de trabajo y familiares.
Necesitamos diseñar esquemas que permitan la operatividad de las organizaciones, instituciones y empresas, sin que esto implique la pérdida de salud de los trabajadores.
Tanto para quienes continuarán bajo el esquema de teletrabajo o home office en las posiciones administrativas y operativas en la medida de lo posible, como para aquellos que requieren por la naturaleza de su rol, asistir a centros de trabajo, es indispensable revisitar la constitución de los equipos de trabajo, revaluar las metas y valores bajando su entendimiento al nivel de comportamiento en estas circunstancias particulares, pero sobretodo, se requiere elevar el nivel de liderazgo para ser capaces de lograr resultados significativos para la organización que reactiven la economía del país, a la vez que se cuida del bienestar de los colaboradores y se eleva su nivel de compromiso, colaboración y lealtad.
